Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND)

Special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) can affect a child or young person's ability to learn. They can affect their:

  • Behaviour or ability to socialise.
  • Ability to understand things.
  • Physical ability.
  • Concentration levels.
  • Reading and writing.

These difficulties cause barriers to the child’s learning and although for some children this may be a temporary difficulty, for other children they may require long term support.

Our role is to support children and their parents/carers to ensure the needs of their child are being met. If you are at all concerned about your child’s needs you can speak to Miss Harrison our School SEND Co-Ordinatior (SENDCo).

If you would like any independent support or advice about any aspect of your child’s Special Educational Needs please contact the Special Educational Needs Information, Advice and Support Support Service (SENDIASS) found here.
