Ofsted stands for the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills. It’s the independent government body in England that inspects and regulates services that care for children and provide education.
What does Ofsted do?
Inspects nurseries, schools, and childcare providers to ensure they meet high standards of safety, care, and education.
Monitors teaching quality and how well children learn and develop.
Checks safeguarding and welfare to make sure children are protected while in care.
Publishes reports so the public can see how well a nursery or school performs.
What is our Ofsted rating?
On Tuesday 27th June 2023 and Wednesday 28th June 2023, Ofsted inspected our nursery school under Section 5 of the Education Act 2005.
We are pleased to confirm that we continue to remain a 'Good' nursery school.
What Ofsted said about us...
'Children are happy at Howard Street Nursery. They arrive full of smiles and confidently say goodbye to their parents and carers'.
'Leaders and staff quickly identify any potential barriers to learning, including SEND, that children may face. Leaders ensure that children who need extra help benefit from a wide range of support, including from professionals outside of the school'.
'Leaders have established a meaningful and ambitious programme to promote pupils’ personal development. For example, leaders ensure that children experience wellthought-out cultural events at a local primary school'.
